I agree....volunteering at an aviation museum is one thing, but volunteering to work at any commercial AMO is a step backwards for all of us.

You can apply 6 months prior to completing the 48 month requirement.

I just checked my logbook and I had 232 signed off for my M2 License. That includes all the additional tasks I added myself. Having said that it all depends on the type of aircraft you have been working on, so it's hard to give a definite number of signatures you will require. Let us know how it tur...

Run now! Seriously, there are lots of places still laying engineers off, my company included, so I'm not sure where this rosy outlook the school told you about is coming from. I'm only 4 years into my career, but I'm already planning my exit.

Your license is not valid. You must of worked at least 6 months in the past 2 years. See CAR's 403.05 & 566.05. Better start studying CAR's. OUCH !!! Your license is still valid...it's just not current. The 6 months in the past 2 years is in regards to the currency of your license not its validity....

You can CFR as a Cpl. And if you have your PLQ you should be able to skip the IAP portion of BOTC or BMOQ (as I think they are calling it now) and just do the 6 week BOTP portion instead of the entire 16 week basic officer training. So even better news for ya! Wow, that too many acronyms for one sen...

A few years ago on my IAP/BOTP course most of the guys who were going pilot didn't have degrees. They were all under the CEOTP entry plan. About half were straight off civie street and the rest were from the ranks.
