Do you have reference to this information in the income tax act? Or otherwise?

Re: AC Pilots leaving to the US?
:bear: ALPA USA has been very vocal against allowing immigrant pilots. They always reiterate that there is no pilot shortage, only a pay shortage in the US. I would agree with the approach of ALPA on the financial aspect. However, the thing that’s missing in that argument would be opening it to a g...

Re: AC Pilots leaving to the US?
Maybe this is a stupid question.. but I’m at a loss here. Explain to me how, if you’re a nurse or a doctor.. you can go south of the boarder with virtually no issues. Didn’t NAFTA open that door for professionals? Are we not professionals? What am I missing? Why are we splitting hairs on a NIW .. o...

Re: Bidding and Schedule
What would be the strategy for bidding max days off sequentially? Curious as to if that’s possible with no regard for weekends or holidays free, how many days can you set up for yourself?

Vision, hearing, blood work to check for things such as liver enzymes and cholesterol, urine test on the spot to check for illicit drugs, electrocardiogram, blood pressure check and stethoscope (standard check of sounds in heart and lungs). The doctor then asks a series of questions such as family ...

Re: 705 PIC vs 737 type
Which one has better long term lifestyle and pay for you? Do you want to be a PIC on a large turboprop, or a small Boeing for your life? Don't worry about Air Canada, they'll call when they call (neither are better on the resume), the question is, where do you want to hang your hat when either AC n...

Re: 705 PIC vs 737 type
Which one catches ACs eye more? I have the opportunity to stay at my 705 op to upgrade soon or hop over to a ULCC to be an FO on the 37. Looking for opinions. Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I'd get an education if you don't already have one. It's too late for a 3 year Aviation College so you're going to have to get a 4 year degree. I agree it's kind of funny that we are talking about someone with 2000 hours getting hired but perhaps that's a sign of the times. I’ve a diploma in busine...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Ok’ wondering if I can gleen some insight as to the method in the madness of Air Canada’s hiring. I applied in March, update my application every month, at the time of my application I was a new captain on a 705 turboprop operator. I’m now standards captain with roughly 430hrs command on 705 operat...

Re: Flow through to AC
I guess there are a few things to unpack here: My first question would be, has this happened in the past? If so what was the remedy sought out by the union with the employer. Knowing this would give you a good indication of what to expect. Secondly, I would suggest not seeing things in black and whi...

Re: Documents required for Air Canada interview
Apparently, Air Canada also requires you to print your Transport Canada file that shows history of all your PPC's (passed or failed), and written exams grades (ppl, cpl, atpl etc). Interesting... So if you failed a ride or a written exam, you can't get in AC anymore? No, you still can. You just will ...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Ok’ I’m gonna throw it out to the masses for some advice: I am a 705 captain at a regional carrier, considering going to Jazz to get the long term goal of Air Canada. I meet the minimum hiring matrix for AC, but just barely so. I think there a lot of unemployment overseas guys, along with many exper...
