Re: Emirates recruitment drive

No plans for a Canadian "tour" as of yet. Last time I checked, Canucks were the second largest group of pilots here. Seems to be a large pool of applicants from Canada and everyone seems to know Emirates or someone who works/worked here. The big push is on in the US as of late because of the largely...

Hey, Not sure what the minumums are anymore (check the website) but I did work there for 8 years and can fill you in on what they're like as an employer! Great place actually. First off, the pay is alright for a Canadian airline and they tend to have some good benefits and a small "retirement" type ...

Well, as someone who is based out of YYZ it's nice to get a bit of background info from ATC every now and then. I think a lot of the pilots flying out of here sometimes wonder why in world things are done the way they are here at Pearson. It can truly be a head scratcher at times! Of course us "pilo...

Anyone have Leblanc's Home Address.....?

Looking for Leblanc's address as he just put several hundred of my fellow pilots out of work and onto pogey and I have a case of rotten eggs and toilet paper that I don't know what to do with.....? This man should never be allowed to opperate another airline in any country ever again. Pathetic. Saw ...

I spent a short 6 months with them before jumping ship and leaving my 30 grand with "Mike The White" as they were by far the worst company i've evered flown for. The stress and embarasement wasn't worth my money. I just can't understand how nobody else who worked there saw this comming?? Nonetheless...

Well i'm in no way going to defend Jetsgo here as they definately don't deserve it from past experience.

However, the GTAA should have shut down the runway for an inspection. Period.

Just my 2 cents.

Well said...... For some reason or another (usually why I don't come on here often) everyon is out to put down their fellow aviator or more noticably lately, the company they work for. Last time I checked we were all trying to find a job or hold onto the one we already have....regardless of the comp...

Sad state of affairs......

The sad truth (and state of the Canadian airline industry) is that the majority of people flying right now go on price alone. If they need to get from Toronto to Vancouver on a Monday; and company X is $20 cheaper than company Y......they'll choose Y. Plain and simple. It's a whole new class of pass...

Hmmm.......that's a hard one to believe don't you think? I'm no MD 83 expert here, but modern FMS systems and AT's make it near impossible to exceed the range of your High and Low speed buffet's. I do know for a fact that their Op's Spec's specify that of the two pilot's there will always be a minim...

From what I gather, they'll be running a ground school once a month through December. Probably in the order of 10-12 people per course. First course was on M22, second on A12 and the third on A29. Probably not a career airline but a good place to stop in for a while and get some time under your belt...

Don't forget that the entire airline industry is still at pre Sept. 11th levels, so there seems to be room for some expansion. Another point is that Air Canada still hasn't got financing in place or a gazillion other problems solved, not to mention the fact that Jetsgo, Westjet and Canjet ALL have m...

Ok, one more thing before I get back into that big alluminum tube we call an office.... Advice For "Spitfire"....

Think of the future my friend..... 1. When airlines hire, the first thing they look for is if your current on the aircraft they fly. (saves training costs etc.) Needless to say, i'm sure you don't want to fly a 1900 for your entire career. 2. If that fails they'll want to see some good PIC time rath...
