Medevac aux Quebec
I was in Rouyn a couple days ago and saw a Challenger with a Quebec flag and a medevac symbol. Is this a government plane? What kind of medevac do they do in this large biz jet??
P.S. Please excuse my poor french title. Je ne parle pas francais.

The Quebec government has 2 challengers for medevac, but they only use one at a time. It flyes everyday. Most of the time, the plane goes up north to Schefferville, Wabush, Sept-Iles, Pabok, Bonaventure, Rouyn, etc...
The government is well-equiped, but I think another type of aircraft would be more appropriate depending on what type of emergency.
They sometimes carry more than one at a time.

Quebec Govt. only have one CL601 for medevacs, the second one used for corporate. It's very useful for the large territory to cover. You can have up to 6 wounded or whatever persons on board + doctor and nurse. For polytraumatic cases, it's even more useful since your sea level up to 28000ft. Lives have no price. They had previously a HS-125 with those noisy Viper engines and it got replaced in 1989 if i'm right. It's even taken as a test bench by Bombardier since it's the Challenger with the most cycles in the world! I'm far from a perfect written and spoken english but hope it gave you some good infos.
Quebec has one Challenger for Medevc purposes. Quebec is a large chunk of territory and this aircraft covers it all, it also does some repat work. Some service also gets sold to neighbouring provinces. The medevac interior is well equipped and is esentially a flying emergency room. They can transport and work on more than one patient at a time which of course could be very crucial when things start to go to he11 with the patient(s) at FL330.
