Any truth to the rumor of Jazz hiring off the street with as low as 300 hours ?
Heard a few pilots talking about it at an FBO today.

"ATPL is dropped."
One pilot told me this. Can't confirm or deny.
-------
Ok. let me spell this one out...
College kids don't have ATPL.
But, now general population don't need a ATPL. Is that right??
If correct I won't do my 6 month medical and I'll lie about my Total time and say I have 250 hours. And forget about the 23 years I've been a pilot.

What does it mean to pre-board? Do you get on before you get on?

No one's told the workopolis people yet.....

I know it's like "where have I been lately"... I just got back from a long rotation overseas and this is the first I've heard about it. I remember hearing some talk from a family member who's a A320 Captain about Jazz taking FO's from aviation colleges. It's hard to believe that it came to that. Doesn't seem like there's a shortage of qualified pilots out there.
Will a 300 hour "wonder" realistically stand a chance at Jazz? Maybe... once they get hired, finish ground school, realize they have no money and all these loans from school, they're going to be screwed if they have to live in Toronto. I bet WJ won't be giving me them a call...

That does it, I´m leaving !!!!!
This company is determined to reduce itself to the most inexperienced
pilot group in the country in order to keep the pay from getting back
to where it should be.
These actions are getting way out of hand now.
I have never seen a management in my entire life that cares so
little about the quality of person they hire as Jazz management does.
Time to do the only thing one can, vote with your feet.
But then thats probably what they want to happen, then they can hire
another unqualified pilot and pay them even less.
Can´t wait until the gears start going through the wings on a regular basis.

The weak will be culled will they ???
If that's true, then why are we short an RJ because of a
weak new hire´s landing.
He sure as hell wasn´t CULLED
And they are hiring much less experienced than him !!!!!
A smoking hole, I do not hope for.
But neither do I look forward to more bent RJ´s.
The weak are not being culled at Jazz, they are being deliberately hired.

Id say no, for now at least. I know people with 1500+ hrs, 704, all ME-turbine with internal references who have not been contacted or even had their resumes viewed. Having the ATP helps for sure, but who knows how desperate they will get.Mogas wrote:so can a guy with less than 500 hours with 704, greater than 12,5 experience, multi-turbine, NO aviation college diploma, get on with jazz?
