I dispatched before I finally landed my first flying job. I loved the job and learned a lot about the day to day operation of an airline.

The last year I was dispatching I made 40k plus at an airline operating 703, 704 and 705 aircraft. The schedule was great.......worked only about 6 months a year with the option of overtime.

To all those 250 hour guys/girls out there who are looking to get their foot in the door at an airline and don't really want to work the ramp, dispatching is a great way to go. You get to deal with management on a daily basis and, if you prove yourself there, your résumé will stand out in the pile on these managers desks once the spring hiring starts.

Best of Luck,
