Re-applying after been PFO'd
Hi guys, had my interview in Jan , PFO'd in June. The letter said re-aplly in six months by keeping your file updated on the website ? Do u think they really going through all the CV's again ? Anybody have been called yet for a second interview after been PFO'd ?
Tks you
Tks you
My buddy got called back 6 months after his PFO but had to redo all the psych questions... I don't think he did the Cog test again though. I believe that succesful candidates are compared directly to the other candidates in the pool at the time of testing. You may have just been up against other "more suitable" at the time of testing and might be luckier the second time through.

Greetings all First post. Long time reader, first time poster.
I was given a reappy letter 6 months ago. So, I went online and updated my account with Mainline. I checked the have you been interviewed with Air Canada before.
My question is has anyone else been through this and was the result? Any type of timeline people like me have to wait for another contact from HR good or bad?
Thanks

RGL,
Don't be hesitant to check the "have you been interviewed at AC before" box. I think it's all part of their master plan. They like to "6 month PFO" people to test their integrity. Most people I know that got the 6 month PFO got hired second...sometimes...3rd time around. Don't give up. They are investing alot of money in you and they want to make sure that you are truly serious in joining their team. They are putting a lot of stock in you over a life-time career so they want to make sure they are purchasing good material. It's hard to get rid of "a bad seed" in this day in age with strong unions and such.
Show them you mean business and that you are a good investment. You'll get the job.

I can honestly say I know about 1/2 a dozen who were hired after the first pfo, and one that was hired after a second. So definitely don't give up if it's your dream. You're among great company, don't for a second think you're somehow lesser for having not made it at the first shot.
That said, I would take a step back and analyze what you think may have gone wrong and strive to right it. Were your interview skills as good as they could have been? Could you somehow become more involved in your company in a training or management role, could you fly a larger plane or get some time with an FMS or glass etc. Anything that you can do to show them that not only do you want the job, but that you've tried to better yourself as an applicant. It's definitely not easy to look at yourself critically, ask some trusted friends what they think you could do.
good luck on round 2!

Re: Re-applying after been PFO'd
My PFO letter said nothing about reapplying, they wished me my best in my aviation career! Does that mean I can't/shouldn't re apply?
