Intermittent Blurred Vision in one eye Only

Post by niss »

Has anyone had this issue? Throughout the day the vision in my left eye will blur a bit, not enough to really distort so I cannot see, but definitely not as sharp as my right and quite annoying.

Dude! Off to the Dr with you ASAP! Go to the regular guy, NOT your CAME.. A.) This could affect your medical validity. B.)There could be underlying medical problems that you might want to get looked at...

Niss...Go see an opthamologist first. I was in for a regular eye check up and the eye Dr. saw the start of Macular Degeneration...a greying circle in the centre of the eye. I then went to a retinal surgeon who started a regular injection theropy...needles in the eyeball Ouch!

Two years ago I was able to pass my Class 3 medical but this past time I could not see the chart with the right eye and as a result the medical was not signed off by my CAME. The RMO has approved a Restricted PPL...thankfully my Better Half has her PPL...because now I can only fly with a co-pilot.

I'm hoping that the situation gets resolved soon but I might get a Monocular waiver at best.

Went to the Optometrist today. He said that there is a little scarring from an old eye injury I had from years ago (damn knife fights in thailand).

He said that it is just more susceptible to strain and I am not tearing enough so he gave me some eye drops.

No glasses or bionic eye for me but I am down $117 :(, oh well, better to know everything is ok.

Thanks guys!

BTW Barney, I found the Journey Log for C-FUBC from the 70's with your signatures in it. Could you do me a favour and paint some really sweet paintings or write some amazing songs before the end? These things could be worth a fortune then! :D

Dehydration is usually the cause. Happened to me a few times, as a result of accute diarrheas, and subsequent dehydrations... 8)
