Re: Air Canada Interviews
Hi guys. Do educational transcripts have a deciding factor in the selection process?
Re: Air Canada Interviews
I tried to apply last night and the site said no available jobs. Was only able to create a profile. Today it says the site is down for a week. Any word? Any other ways to get resume in?

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Got the call tonight to give me the heads up that they would be contacting my references tomorrow. HR guy sounded like it was a done deal and I might be looking at a March course.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Congrats, Dog! To answer your question, PIT (indoc) is 2 weeks, break, 1 week procedures trainer (with breaks), 2 weeks sim (with breaks), line indoc, line check. All tolled, you are usually line checked 2 months from course start. The total length varies with your breaks, as the sim and class schedules vary.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
It's airlinepilotcentral.com and beware of multiple errors when you get over to mypilotcareer.com . AC no longer operates the A340 and certainly does not operate the B757. And where the heck is this base called "Winnig"?WhatThe? wrote:Airlinepilotcenter.com look for "gouge's"

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Hi,
How important is it to follow the STAR format when answering questions? Also, to those who were succesful with the interview, how long were your answers? I don't want to seem like im blabbing on.
One more thing...how far away is the Four Points Sheraton from the CAE/Air Canada building in a taxi?

Re: Air Canada Interviews
STAR is an aid.
It will:
Prevent you from wondering.
Round out your story.
Keep the pace of your answer.
Make sure you convey all of your story.
Prevent panic one word answers which score...next to zero.
Allow you to relax.
Remember, if you get a curve ball, it is totally acceptable to ask for a moment to think about your response.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Consider that fact that the interviewers will be spending almost all of their time writing your responses feverishly. They will try and summarize your responses to the hiring board. So the descriptive words you use are important because they are the ones that will make it onto the paper. You have to deliver the message in a complete enough fashion that they can capture the "good message" (Use of SOP's, Teamwork, Team building...). So the STAR method keeps you on message and gives a nice package for each response.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Got the call for March 5th!
4600 TT
2300 MPIC (all under 12500)
No Jet
No French
No EFIS
Aviation College
Interview Dec 1st
Medical Jan 11th
Ref check Jan 12th
Call for GS Feb 3rd
It is a lot of waiting for phone calls but worth it. The interview/behavioral/cog test day can be stressful depending on what order you do it in. I was the last person to do the interview that day so I was anxious through most of the tests. I finished the cog and behavioral stuff by 11:00 and had to sit and wait till 14:00. Used it as more prep time. follow the format and try to convey all the important points (SOP's, CRM, SMS, passenger comfort) As stated earlier the pilots interviewing you are there to translate your stories from Aviation to HR. They were very good at making me feel comfortable in the interview, and understand that it is a big step in most pilots career. Pick out your best stories and forget the rest, write them out and practice saying them out loud in the proper format. I did not do the PCC online course but probably should have just as practice. I went through all the interview type questions I could find whit a fellow pilot who had done the interview a month before me. If you walk in prepared and confident (but not cocky) you should do fine. Don't sweat the behavioral tests, if you give and honest assessment of yourself you should be fine. I did put down some less than favorable answers. Not to say I'm a bad person but who can honestly say they have never lied or broken any law ever?
Hope it helps, good luck to all.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Does the medical invitation comes in a form of email or phone call? And how long after the interview would you expect to receive the medical invitation (from what I've read its anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks)? Feeling kinda antsy...
Re: Air Canada Interviews
E-mailed for Dec 1st interview in mid Nov. Got a phone call for the medical on Jan 9th. Followup e-mails for everything.
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Tell me what you guys think :
I received an email 5 days ago inviting me to choose a date for an interview. Obviously, the selected date for my interview has to be confirmed by HR. So I immediately responded but since last wednesday I haven't received any news or confirmation. I am not in a rush and I understand the selection process is a lot of work for HR but I'm really starting to worry since one of the interview date is in less than 24h from now...
Do you think my response got lost? Should I send another email or patiently keep waiting ??
Thanks
