Females and the Bag Run

Post by 200hr Wonder »

I saw the previous thread about females having it easier and it lead me to thinking about this question...

When you are doing the famous 703 bag runs and you get to hold all day in a some flea bag hotel and share a room, when flying with a mixed male/female crew has anyone ever experienced or witnessed inappropriate behavior?

I think from an HR point of a view this leads to a whole can of worms that I would not want to put my company in. A mixed crew in a small confined and private setting for extended periods of time. I think it would be worth the cost of the second hotel room to save any issues at all. Can anyone think of anywhere else that this sort of thing happens? Even when I was on the road with a partner doing IT and company policy was to share a room, if it was a mixed group you each got your own.

Been flying for 12 years and I can't think of one instance that this came into play or was a issue for that matter.

What do you men "inappropriate" - if that means prostituting yourself for shit wages - breaking CARS on a daily basis whether that be poor rest facilities - not entering snags - flying with poorly equipped aeroplanes in conditions where not certified for - those are the problems - little "slap and tickle" is f_ck all and can't be even considered an issue -- lmfaooooooo - however, jerking off in the next bed is --

Like anything else -- these issues never get solved until you take a stand --

Ha, ha!

What's with all the concern recently about females? Girls have been flying as long as guys have. If two people want to "hook up" (as the kids are calling it these days), they'll find a way to make it happen, in the crew room, in the plane, after work, whatever. You're not going to put a stop to the pesky issue of human mating by putting a stop to male/female pairings.

Sharing a room might prevent it.

You're stuck with each other all the time, plus after seeing what a pig the guy is in the room. Or not as likely but possibly the double X person is the slob.

The above is good pre flight airmanship as it starts your day stress free in many ways including not having to worry about bringing the clap home to the wife. :smt040

I don't worry about the clap. If you give it to your wife, just turn around and blame her for giving it to you. Works every time.

If you guys keep talking like this ... the companies are going to put two females to a pairing.

So stop it !!!

So it's not "duty rest" because you're sharing a room, correct? They're just putting you there to hang out? If so, I don't see an issue. If it is duty rest, then you should have your own room regardless of the crew's sex.

" A mixed crew in a small confined and private setting for extended periods of time"

Like the front of an airplane?

," they'll find a way to make it happen, in the crew room, in the plane, after work, whatever. You're not going to put a stop to the pesky issue of human mating by putting a stop to male/female pairings."

Yep they will. And if some moron is going to get slapped with a harrasment suit he certainly wont need the privacy of a hotel room to pull it off.

To tell the truth I can think of a few crew partners Id rather not spend time in a hotel room with...for all sorts of reasons. :smt040 But if theyre going to cause problems that way itll happen anyway.

I won't date female pilots because they have giant egos and never stop talking about aeroplanes long enough to think about what I might want to talk about.

On the other hand, if one was in this perdicament, your a lower time attractive female cojo and your high time capt makes you very umcomfortable, it could be a pretty tight spot.

(I wont go open the whole can of worms about why this happens consistently to some girls who are no more or less attractive than others)

Response from managment could be anywhere from "pffff you just want your own room," "mental note-she s trouble" to a simple "this crew pairing is to be avoided".

If your managment tends more toward the "pffff" side of things, what to do? Anyone?

Yeah......they also favour large shiny wristwatches, those stupid aviator-style sunglasses, and those shoulder-board thingys on their uniform shirts. What's up with that?

On a date, how does a conversation with a pilot go?

About half way through the evening, he or she says .... "So, enough about me, let's talk about airplanes."
