Wings over Kississing Norseman engine failure, June 13, 2013

Post by into the blue »

CADORS:
A Kississing Lake Lodge Noorduyn UC-64A (C-FENB) from Flin Flon Water, MB (CJK8) to Thompson Water, ON (CKD6) inbound declared a mayday with an engine failure and landed safely on the Burntwood River approximately 9 SW of Thompson, MB (CYTH). Approximately 3 minutes later C-FENB departed for CKD6 Thompson Seaplane Base. Aircraft landed safely at CKD6 at 1248Z with 1 POB and 60 gallons of fuel. No impact on operations.
What the heck was going on? Any information?

Possibly fuel contamination? Too much air in the tank?
