Bose A20 Headset Repair

Post by IWANTTOFLYYIN »

Hey guys and gals,

I have had the A20's for about 4 years now and recently started noticing a little static/vibration in my headsets when flying and the noise cancelling + volume is turned up a bit. Very noticeable when listening to music and sounds like there's a loose connection/wiring. Anyway, I have to send it out to Brant Aero in London ON and was wondering if anyone on here has had to send their headsets in for repairs / maintenance and had to deal with Brant Aero? How was the customer service / quality of repairs etc etc? If not Brant Aero, where have you sent it in for repairs?

Thanks everyone! :D

From what I hear, send it directly to Bose, they take care of you.

Yes Brant Aero is the place to send them in Canada. I sent mine there for repair a while back.

You can just go to a Bose store and have them replaced for... free.

I sent my A20 to Brant in July for some minor issues (boom was a little loose, a metal wire clip was missing). They fixed what I was having problems with, but they also did a ton of extra work for no cost to me. They replaced the ear seals, the control unit (recalled), the mic sock, and a few other things. They also replaced my non Bluetooth control unit with a Bluetooth unit. The invoice had over $500 worth of work done all covered by warranty. Also, I found the customer service excellent. I felt like the receptionist I talked to on the phone actually gave a shit about my concernes. It was a good experience.

+1 to the above post.

Excellent experience. They fixed way more than I sent it in for.

I just bring mine to the Bose booth at Oshkosh during EAA.
I get them repaired for free even on 10 year old Bose.

Yup, I've never had any issues with this either. My argument has always been that I need it for work, and waiting 3 weeks for repair simply isn't acceptable. I actually had 2 defective replacements, both of which were replaced within 5 minutes in the store. They were even so good to restore my 5 year warranty every time on the new headset.

Best of luck 8)

Do you mind if I ask which bose store you took it to(Like what city)? The guys here in AB all keep telling me I need to send it to ON, anyways not a huge deal. I need it for work here in the next week so I haven't sent it off to ON yet.

I did it at the Eaton Centre in Toronto and the West Edmonton Mall, literally walk in, explain your issue and walk out very pleased.

The customer rep behind the 1800 number doesn't offer this trick right up front, but when you explain to them that you can't wait for 3 weeks, then they retain your customer base by advising you to go to a store near by. But you don't even need to talk to them, just go to the store.

I went to the South Centre mall by Anderson Road in YYC. (403) 476-4085 is their number.

...had the very same problem a few weeks ago....Sent the BOSE A20 to Ducey avionics in Edmonton and they forwarded it to BOSE directly....fortunately the unit was still under warrantee...the diagnose was...found microphone broken loose inside left earcup...

..I had used AA Lithium batteries and was told by BOSE to use alkaline AA only as the Lithium's can sometime also cause some troubles to the mic housing...

Anyhow, it works great now...

Hope it helps.

Just wanted to give an awesome review of the Bose repair shop in Brant Aero for the work they did on my headset. Not only did they fix the main issue with the noise cancelling, but they did a bunch of extra stuff that I didn't mention to them or expect to have fixed - all still under warranty. They replaced my entire "console" and fixed a bunch of little cosmetic issues as well as provide me with a new aux cord and new batteries. They cleaned the headset and replaced the boom mic and like I said, all under warranty. Headset was sent out and back on my doorstep within a week. Great job guys, thanks for the service!
