Hello
I have a question for the guys that have done just that, go from helicopter flying to fixed wing flying.
I am currently a helicopter pilot with about 4000 hrs, IFR, night, ATPL. About 400 hrs multi engine.
What are the chances of make a successful career flying fixed wing with my background at 42 years old?
Is there anyone here that has done it ?
Thanks
JM

Re: From Helicopter to fixed wing
Its funny, I wouldn't mind going the other way. Wish it was as simple of trading logbooks...
Why are you looking to switch? That's some pretty high time in the rotary world, if I'm not mistaken. Does it have anything to do with all these drones flying around nowadays?

JLMG,
Are you able to find IFR work? I have thought about going over to fixed wing but have been told the vfr Heli time counts for zilch. Heli IFR pays better out of the gate as well, as I'm sure you know....
