PilotTraining.ca. (Online ground school)
Can I study the online ground school from sites like PilotTraining.ca on my own time instead of actually sitting in a ground school?
Thanks, any info would be appreciated.

Yes. That would kind of be the entire point of an online ground school, don't you think?

But then who signs off the GS required hours in your PTR?

Pilottraining.ca gives you a letter.

Well, at least pilottraining.ca has had a good trot out here.

For what it’s worth, Transport did not accept my letter from the website. When I told Harvs about it they told me tough shit. Wasn’t impressed, however the content is quite good and I scored very well on the exams I used it for.

It is now accepted by all TC regions. Was this quite a while ago? They say they used to have some problems with some TC regions, but it is now resolved.BeaverDreamer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 5:17 pm For what it’s worth, Transport did not accept my letter from the website. I’ve done both my PPL and CPL written using the recommendation letters from Harv’s air in the last year and haven’t had any issues. Quebec region

No problems with recommendation letters being accepted in Toronto either. I know several people who used them for their CPL online ground school. One of them did both online and traditional ground school said the online was much better. Most in person ground schools are just a series of 3hr power point presentations so I’m not too surprised online could be superior.

I used Pilottraining.ca for my CPL, INRAT, and IATRA. Never had a problem with TC in YYC accepting! Am using for gs for AIRAF. Diff of 2400 bucks!
So... yes, they're very good, super detailed, and I did great on all of my exams. This was 2017-2018
Cheers!

I used the Langley Flying School online free groundschool when I got back into flying and found their website an invaluable resource. And it's free. You probably can't use it for TC. But still it's a great tool to add to the pile.
