Moncton Flight College
Hi,
Can any kind soul pls give a review about MFC to pursue flight training particularly their Integrated ATPL program. I am not sure how legitimate the program is. Appreciate a review.
Thank you.

Re: Moncton Flight College
It’s the most legit iATPL program in Canada. I work with a few guys that trained there and it sounds like an efficient and effective program. I don’t know much about it other than it’s as legit as it gets for iATPL programs.

Definitely legit. I did the integrated ATPL program with MFC, I would say it is a well organized program and I enjoyed my time there. MFC Training has been rebranded since it has been bought by EIC, and is now a division of PAL. They also have programs in place (life in flight) where you instruct at MFC after your training, and then go work for the EIC operator of your choice. Feel free to reach out if you wanna know more.

Totally agree with the above aforementioned comments. Learning Mandarin would be an asset.

Definitely legit and well established with a decent reputation across the country. Expect to be based in Moncton, as the Fredericton campus only handles Chinese cadets. The Moncton campus is about 50/50 of domestic and Chinese students. MFC also has a great training program using a King Air Sim that really gives their graduates an advantage in understanding the dynamics of a two-crew environment.

Re: Moncton Flight College
I have a substantial history with MFC and their integrated programme. They are definitely legit. Things have changed quite a bit since as I was there as there has been a change of ownership, management and staff, BUT honestly I don't know if they changed for the better, because like I said this was a while ago so I don't know what has happened with them since. To be fair: their training system and curriculum are very well put together and professional. However their treatment of students/customers is sadly not. Definitely not ethical. When I first joined them, I was warned by several people (some of whom who already in the middle of their training in MFC) about that. But I was so naive back then and just assumed these people were maybe just bitter/cynical or maybe they were students who weren't serious and just wanted to blame the school for their own shortcomings. That is until the exact thing happened to me. They certainly don't take your interests as a student to heart, even though they do a pretty good job at first of putting on a "show" that would suggest otherwise. Even when you try to be proactive and reach out to your instructor or the supervisors about your concerns should any issues with your training arise, they tend to be dismissive until you're in too deep and it's too late. There's also a major lack of transparency with students. They will carefully leave out critical bits of information that you, as a student, are entitled to know from the start (such as your rights and a student and options available to you that could make your flight training more efficient and successful). I am talking the kinds of things that are almost impossible for you to know on your own, especially when you are just starting out, don't know they ropes and aren't familiar with how aviation (flight training in particular) works. I understand they have a bottom line like all organizations in this world, but that does NOT make it OK to screw students over and take advantage of their lack of experience. So, since this has happened to me and to many other people I know, I would not feel comfortable recommending MFC to anyone right off the bat. But like I said, things may have improved? I don't know. But either way, regardless of whose advice you take, please please PLEASE, do your homework whether it's about MFC or any other school. I cannot emphasize this to you enough. Talk to as many people with experience as you could who are in the know. Don't dismiss the critics like I did. Back when I started, I heard similar things to what many people in this friend have said about how wonderful MFC is and I fell for it and their integrated programme. They certainly look great on paper, but don't fooled by their or anyone else's sales pitch or their squeeky clean image (which they've always worked very hard on btw). Sure the king air simulator and long impressive history and the '"student success stories" will all impress you. But understand that says nothing about how your own training will go, or how you will be treated. And for all these success stories, there's a long list of MFC "casualities" many of whom had the potential to be great pilots but were mislead or stripped of their money. Fortunately, some of these people went to succeed as pilots elsewhere and some had no money left and gave up altogether. Please don't be one of them.
