ICAO ATPL TO TC ATPL
Hello , I have been on a process to change my foreign ATPL to TC ATPL . I have completed with Medical certificate and get a copy. Do I need to go through log book check before ATPL exams. If yes where can I do that? I have a flight hours of 5.4k on different type Boeing aircrafts and Airbus. Even though its been a year since I did my last flight on Q400, how do TC go through skill check and rating endorsements, What is your advice on this. Thank you cheers

My suggestion
Get a radio licence
Go and sit the exams, upon successful completion attend a flight school do al required checkouts submit to TC they will then check your logbook

To write the written exams you will have to make an appointment at a Transport Canada Exam Center:

When you attend your appointment you will have to show your logbooks to prove minimum experience requirements (750total time, etc.)
You must complete INRAT, SAMRA, and SARON. You do not need to have your logbooks verified in advance, just call up and make the appointment.
Once these are complete, you must attend a flight school and complete a Multi-IFR flight test.
Following a successful flight test you must submit your application, including:
-proof of citizenship
-your foreign license and logbook (yes, the actual logbook!)
-application form
-PAY THE FEE (can be done online, must be done in advance)
Following this, you will obtain your ATPL.
As for your type ratings, you may find this more difficult. You can recieve credit for your type ratings provided you have 50 hrs of flight time or a Proficiency Check (or your country's equivalent) within the last 12 months. If you haven't flown in the last 12 months, you will likely only be able to obtain the type rating through training by a Canadian operator.

As far as I can tell, the answer is no.
CAR's 421.34 (5) (a) Within the 12 months preceding the date of application for the licence, an applicant shall demonstrate in a multi-engined aeroplane with no central thrust configuration and fitted with instruments and equipment suitable for IFR flight in controlled airspace, familiarity with and the ability:
(amended 1999/03/01)
(i) to perform both normal and emergency flight procedures and manoeuvres appropriate to the aeroplane in which the flight test is conducted; and
(ii) to execute all manoeuvres and procedures set forth in Division XIV for issue of a Group 1 instrument rating.
This suggests that the only way to meet the "Skill requirement" is by completing the test in an aeroplane, not a sim.
