BackBack De-ice Pack

Post by Dronepiper »

Hello!

Looking for a backpack style metal deicing pump pack with heating element. I am ideally looking for what most northern operators use (e.g Wasaya). Where can I find something like that? I can’t find anything online that combines both elements and is portable.

Thanks!

Never seen a metal one, but plastic garden fertilizer sprayers are very common. If you use type 1 you need TDG approval and paperwork to make it legal, and training for pilots on how to use it/ its limitations and PPE to wear. They tend to tip over and can leak in the aircraft requiring canutec notification and paperwork so the official fix is to bungee cord them into a plastic milk crate. Most Canadian Tire and Home Depot stores sell them in the summer but they are hard to find in the winter.

In Tbay? I’d try this place. https://valleyfireprotection.com/products/

The back pack pumps I suspect you’re used to seeing are water pumps for fire fighting. Get a battery blanket to wrap it and you’re all set.

Am I the only one thinking “let’s make a flamethrower”?
