Ontario is Paramedic within the prov.
ORNGE is in charge of all Fixed and rotary medic stuff. There may be nurses on "bring back to Canada flights" ala Skyservice but I think they use mostly medics.

Nova Scotia EHS uses both 50% in hospital/50% aircraft.
Alberta STARS is the same.

Why does she have to work in the air-ambulance? I'm sure she could find a job on the ground at a hospital or clinic wherever you're based.

Son, someday you will make a girl very happy, for a short period of time. Then she`ll leave you and be with new men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be. These men are called pilots.

Husky your right she wouldnt have to work with me we just thought it could be fun and if we managed to get on the same rotation we wouldnt be making the sacrifice soo bad (just that we wouldnt be moving some where different to both of us then not able to even hang out with each other)
CE your comment is just sad but as long as no one knows your true identity you shouldnt have a issue finding work

Thanks for your posts

I'm sure you're already aware of the fact that nurses will require specialized training to do flight work. Might want to check which Provinces require which certification as well.

Bandaid I am sure she will require specialized training to do flight work that shouldnt be a problem for her maybe just a time issue; she is one of the highest trainned nurses at the hospital

So talking to some Ontario Medevac pilots ( and eavesdropping on paramedics) what is this new ORANGE, i mean ORNGE protocol going to do to ON flight medics and nurses? Sounds like a lot of people are being displaced... maybe i should stop eavesdropping, but i couldn't help it... FBOs and free coffee bring out the worst in me.
