Sending the logbooks to TC

Post by Skipper »

Hey everyone

For those who have recently applied for their ATPL, do the logbooks have to go to TC in Ottawa, or can they be verified at a local office? I'm in Abbotsford, BC and there is a TCC right here at the airport.

I know I can photocopy them and send them, but I would rather hand them in myself then ship them across the country with the hopes they will return in one piece

Anyone else feel like they get more and more paranoid with every passing year?

Thanks!

ATPL applications are usually processed at the Regional Headquaters for your area... that would be Vancouver.

You could drop your documents into the TCC at Abbotsford, and they could inter-office mail them to Vancouver, at no charge to you. You would have to enquire if they would be willing to ship them back to Abbotsford the same way, or the standard method -- send them directly to you, registered mail.

The TCC's (as a general rule) don't handle ATPL applications because of the complexity of some of the applications. I could be wrong about Abbotsford... ?

ATPL

I submitted my log book a couple weeks ago with all my paper work in Calgary, they actually sent it to Winnipeg. I had the option of picking the license and books back up at the Calgary office, or having them mailed to me from Winnipeg. All in all, it took 10 days from when i submitted to when they were ready for pick up.

I went to the Hamilton office and had an ATPL 3 hours later.
