ON Accountants
I'd appreciate contact info re. accountants in Ontario experienced with doing the tax returns of Cdn pilots working overseas - someone who knows about Revenue Canada's Overseas Employment Tax Credit (OETC). Thank you.

while you phone the automated EI nuber claiming the lack of employment, he needs to put the US dollars in his dirty socks when he comes back. than file as if he's been unemployed for the time that he's gone and you don't deposit the us dollars but have family members take small amounts to the bank and get it exchanged

Kinda hard to claim he's unemployed when he's away since his paychecks have UIC, benefits and income tax deducted

So for a real answer....
I used to get mine done by H & R Block of all people. Its really not too difficult, you could probably even try it yourself if you wanted. His employer should provide him with a form at tax time indicated that he does qualify for the credit. Exploration, humanitarian and UN work usually fall under that.
Some overseas income doesn't qualify so be careful. I found that any you don't have to be specifically looking for an overseas accountant (specializing anyway) to get it done.
Good Luck.
