SW is apparently going to hire a Tonne of new pilots. As soon as they sort out the one or two pilots internally who are moving up, HR will be doing interviews for around 20 positions maybe more. (or so they say)

Beech sched is mon to fri 50 - 60 hours per week of time at work for 50- 60 hours per month flight time, call outs for weekend flying only if you want the trips. Most flight depart at 6 am so get used to getting up at 4 and getting home around 6 - 8 pm. Remember a full reset at the super 8 is not a 12 hour duty day by the CARs.

BE20

FO pay is 33.4, 36.1, 38.7 per year.
Capt pay 51.7, 55.8, 59.8 per year.

BE3B/02 pay is roughly 2K/ year more that's it, but the bonds are way higher.

Good company, great co workers, brutally long days, poor pay, very few promotions from within, but according to the minutes of the meeting the last one is going to improve.

They only have 1 captain for 3 caravans right now so those'll be getting filled quickly...90+ hour work week and you clean your own plane for 40.8.

That sounds like another candidate for a union - 90 hour/week? Why would anybody do that? Do you think that's a good operation, paying 1950s wages??

You'd get more money on welfare and you'd have another 40 hours a week to drink it off.

I'll bet there are no benefits, either? Surprise me.

There are benefits from what I was told.

I remember when I thought Sunwest Home was one of the best. It certainly isn't the worst and they do have great equipment but any company who doesn't pay a living wage to the pilots has dropped off my "one of the best" list. Yeah, yeah - 60K ain't that bad, but that's 3rd year captain and could you imagine being a cojo in YYC for 30K?

These companies should start cojo at the current captain pay scale and be paying captains the combined total of current crew salaries... They're making a killing right now on our backs.

LOL..... I have been saying forever that these companies don't pay enough! Some would be surprised how many pilots and chief pilot defend the companies for paying what they do.

Untill recently Sunwest was one of the best paying companies in cyyc, I think now Cariboo might be a little better if you meet contrail.

So if people are finally starting to realize that these companies aren't paying enough, then which ones in all of southern Canada do pay enough? Probably can count them on one hand, but that is the cost of living in the big city. And many are willing to put up with it.

Hiring is full on.

The bulletin board is full of postings.

If you have experience you can easily get more that first year pay. They have lost trips due to lack of crew!

The benefits are excellent for a charter company. Guys that left for WJ have commented that they missed the SWA package.

I am no here to blow SWA's horn, just to dispel myths.
