Asking a pilot about what he thinks of Transport Canada, is like asking a fire hydrant what does he think about dogs.

Tofo,
Great reply...
The poor kid is not looking to buy a PPC, not looking to take your job away, he is just looking for a school who is willing to rent him a Twin. He figures that since he has to pay for the first 200hrs or so, might as well pay a little more and build some time that will give him half a fighting chance.
Ice,
Cargair in SK3 rent their old Aztec in 25hrs blocks. Don't know the requiremnts, but give them a call anyway.
Cheers,
F

my offer stands. If I find out who he is I'll take his money off his hands.
But you see I have a mortgage and bills, all things you wouldn't understand.
Funny I know of lots of people including myself who advanced just fine without buying time. There is no other way to advance in this industry

Did you advance without an instructors rating, without loading cargo, without knowning someone on the inside.tofo wrote:Funny I know of lots of people including myself who advanced just fine without buying time. There is no other way to advance in this industry
Whats the difference between paying for some time or paying for an instructor rating to built time.

Like I said I have bills and a mortgage and other adult things. But someday when you move out of your moms house you might understand.
Oh he'll be paying alright, I hope he gets to sit beside me after pulling that shitt and theres a silent majority of pilots who would love to find out who he is and in avaiation there really are no secrets.
On the other hand why not just say fuc the other guys on the ground when he can buy himself a job without lifting a bag. why not just get the PPC, hell offer to do someones job for half the money.
That is how it starts
and this is how it ends

I will take a lousiville slugger and tenderize the idea out of anyone I know of that thinks buying yourself hours means you get to skip the ramp

Actually tofo, there is an ever older silent majority that dispises the whoring you did on the ramp to get an airplane seat.
Pilots are pilots not ramp rats. You allowed yourself to be placed in that position by your own desire to get ahead.
What the individual proposed was buying more valuble time. If he can afford it, then he should position himself as best he can for the market.
If he can avoid a year in a non-flying position then he ought to.

previous posts by THEICEMANI agree with you guys....it is the downfall of the industry! I whish it were not that way.....
BUT
You guys have to accept reality. What if a kid (with 250-500TT) was offered a right seat on a Dash8 or CrJ......What would be his response!
"No, I have to preserve the integrity of the aviation industry??"
No way .....he would take the job.....maybe for free.....
It's wrong, but it's reality.....
What's wrong with trying to get into Air Canada @ 26???

You sure are scary Mr. Tofo, please don’t hurt us, please. I don’t plan on sitting on the ramp, I can tell you that much. If a situation came along and I had to pay for time that would put me in a position to get where I want in the industry, I might just do it. And guess what, you can meet me anytime you like, you can even bring that big bad Louisville slugger you talk about. But before you do, take a picture of your two front teeth, and don’t forget to give me your address so I can mail them back to you because you wont have much luck finding them with both eyes swollen shut.

All I read was 'THEICEMAN' wanted to rent an aircraft to build time. What the hell is wrong with that? He's not buying a PPC.
Is it now unethical to rent an aircraft?
Sometimes I think people 'rant' for the sake of ranting. I'm guessing it's directly related to penis size...

Back out on that road again
Turn this beast into the wind
There are those that break and bend
I'm the other kind

So my plan to offer several economical float planes for rent to pilots wishing to build time to qualify for a bush flying job will mean I will then be part of the sector of the industry that abuses pilots?
And anyone who rents from me or takes dual from me will be looked on as scum by their peers, because they bought time on my airplanes?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

I guess so Cat, so cancel my lessons will you!Cat Driver wrote:So my plan to offer several economical float planes for rent to pilots wishing to build time to qualify for a bush flying job will mean I will then be part of the sector of the industry that abuses pilots?

Hey man!
Alright Tofo...seriously....don't know what to say!
First off, many flight schools rent to people with 100TT......I have 120TT & building...want to do my hours in twin instead of 150...anything wrong with that??
Second.....I am not buying a PPC!!! I look for ways not to pay!! Ya, I have seen this youtube video 3,000 times
Now tell me this! If you are 22 with 400TT & your dream is to fly in the big leagues....& a regional offers you a right seat on a CRJ...what would you do????Preserve the integrity of the industry????
PLZ...you would jump ship, celebrate, then complain about the pay & eventually move up!
THird......Multi hours are hard to come by! As an instrcutor...you can wait years before you have the chance! @ my school there is an Air Inuit Dash * captain & Air France AMe who teach multi....young guys can't move up!
Hey fougapilot,
I fly @ Cargair/ CSk3...
the 25 hours block are just a bit out of my price range..
I am looking to buy @ 100$ hour DRY .....& will refuel in the U.S cuz I can buy blocks @ 3.50 a gallon
