Jobs in central/southern Ontario

Post by Meecka »

I've noticed a huge amount of jobs posted here are from out west. I'm not looking to move out there, but I do absolutely NEED to leave my current employment, the situation has become dire. So I was wondering if there are any jobs in Central or Southern Ontario (and I'm not talking Toronto here) For a Licenced M1 AME? I'll go to a smaller shop if the pay isn't too atrocious.

Just some ideas, here:
Thunder Air, Maylan, Diamond, Furgo, Bearskin...........
I am only familiar with Bearskin and Thunder. Bearskin was a bit of a bad experience for me when I was there Years ago. I have been told it has improved a fair bit since then.... Including the wage!
Thunder I knew the owner somewhat, and had a chance to work with some of His guys in other surrondings, they had nothing bad to say about the operation there. I can't say as I noticed any
major problems there outside the normal industry run of the mill type stuff.
As to the others I mentioned, can't comment on them as haven't any experience with any of them.

Meecka, why stick at M1?

if you are going for a change ...go BIG!!!

Cargojet is a pretty good company in Hamilton if you are a professional AME with troubleshooting abilities they will give you a shot (M1 or M2...whateeever!) they have lots of spots available for the next little while due to expansion.

They have a company culture that will not foreign territory to you ... (just get the job done... fix it.)

The bunch I know from there are excellent people and you could do worse as you evidently know.

best of luck,

Chub...

I'll keep them in mind. I have been putting some serious thought into getting my M2.. I've got 4 months towards it already, unfortunately that was something like 6 years ago, so I'm pretty sure that don't count anymore. the "just get it done" mentality unfortunately is NOT what I have been dealing with of late... for the past 3 years its been get it done, under budget though, and may god help you if your so much as .5 hour over! I would love to work at a shop again that had the "just get it done, I don't care how long it takes" mentality. I'm so sick of having to account for every second, pee break, and stop to sneeze of my shift! I'm tired of everything being profit driven, just let me do my job, get off my ass about how many man hours it takes... the friggin thing is ready to fly, SAFELY, when it is supposed to go. I don't give a shit that the president didn't make his 50% profit margin. Well that was my blow-up for the day.. sorry boys!!

Heard through the grape vine a rather large flight school is opening in Dunnville. Massive foreign student intake. Sorry I don't have any specifics on contact people but the info is reliable.

Hell I don't even know hwere Dunnville is except in the Hamilton area.

PM me if you want me to make a few calls.
