It sucks. However there is nothing in the contract. They have been paying for hotels and meal money out of the goodness of their heart up to now. The FA's lost both Hotels and meal money last year. Pilots, so far, have just lost meal money. But there is nothing stopping the company from deciding not to pay hotels as well while on initial training.
AC's reason. The competition doesn't pay. AC has to do everything it can to keep its cost in line with the competition.
What is in the contract however, is pay. You will get 1st year flat salary.

You mean the competition has lowered the standards? No. That can't be. They are so happy.
Re: March 3rd Ground School
Its just getting worse and worse there now. Too bad. At least your getting closer to comparing apples and apples.

Hey Valcore. Listen man, I totally understand. I mean, it must be heart- wrenching to walk amongst us in T1, wondering about what could have been, what might have been. I feel for ya man. I hear AC gives guys a second shot at it. Or did you blow that one too? I say these things because I sense frustration in you. What? No? You go on other sites and at least you attempt to say something almost close to intelligent. You show up here and all you do is vent frustrating, brainless comments. Let me guess, you're not on the March 3rd course are ya?. But you don't care, right? Hey, that 737 looks pretty good and I think those colors on it are cool. Dude, no worries, be happy, you're gonna be just fine.

Tony, you just don't get it do you? There are TONS of guys like me that won't give AC the time of day let alone a second chance. You know it and it hurts you. They day I feel like going to work in a hostile environment, hate fellow co-workers because they used to wear a different color, have a shitty relationship with management, be worried about my job year after year, I will apply. Rag on bitch!

You continue to disgrace yourself, but even worse than that, you disgrace your fellow colleagues at Sunwing. If you don't want to give AC a second chance why are you always posting on AC/Jazz forums?Valcore wrote:tonysoprano wrote:Hey Valcore. Listen man, I totally understand. Same reason Tony always posts in the West Jet forum. I can post where ever i bloody well feel like it.
I do love the typical Air Canada arrogance he portrays though. It's bang on.
PS: I love the comfort that only a hairy moderator can bring me.

Ummmm...dude, seriously did you have to really say that out loud? Some things are just better left unsaid.Valcore wrote: PS: I love the comfort that only a hairy man can bring me.

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Re: March 3rd Ground School
Apart from the issues between V and TS, Congrats to all those heading to GroundSchool!
I just interviewed in YVR last week and am focusing on major positive thoughts/vibrations untill I get that letter. They told me should hear something within 8 weeks maybe earlier as hiring is slowing down. 100 pilots to be hired in 08, 20-25 percent success ratio for interviewees.
In case anyone wants to know, I have 4700 TT all turbine ('cept for training) VFR/IFR experience, 1000 hours bush, 3000 pic, 700 multipic, 4 year degreee unilingual, chief pilot experience, and about 800 hours on heavy multi turbines (around 17000 GTOW)
Cheers and best of luck in training. I'll cya there soon!
