Re: LOA
There is not much to summarize... leaves are being offered up and those interested have until the end of August to decide. Ulitmately the Company will decide if a particular request will be granted. Leaves to work for a "competitor" are not going to be authorized.
Re: LOA
Do you have to tell them where your going?? Do they list who they consider a "competitor"?prop2jet wrote:There is not much to summarize... leaves are being offered up and those interested have until the end of August to decide. Re: LOA
Look under the SLOA policy Guidelines Chart under Employment During Leave. According to that employment with competitors will be approved.

Re: LOA
SLOA= special leave of absence. You can leave the company for a few months or a few years, go work overseas or somewhere else in canada and make some good $$$ or do some different flying, and get to keep your seniority number at jazz.1900 wrote:Not familier with what that means: SLOA and RTBs
RTB= reduced time blocks. Pilots are normally scheduled between 77-82.5 hrs/months block time. With an RTB, you can work 37 hrs/mo. Good for people who dont need the $$ and want to spend more time at home.

Re: LOA
so does that mean Jazz will be hiring? Good news for the Zoom guys I guess, or has WestJet and Sunwing already scooped them up?

Re: LOA
the numbers aren't out yet as to how many have been approved. the equipment bid should be out very soon then we'll know what's up. i don't expect jazz to hire anytime soon.

Re: LOA
Word going around the training (g/s & sim) guys/gals is of a possible oct new hire course. Hard to believe, considering all the loa's and rtb's being offered, but then agian, this is aviation.

Re: LOA
i know there was a rumour posted that some college grads from this year were offered course dates at jazz but the response i got from the VP was "not true"
Re: LOA
Kind of off topic but can anyone confirm the rumour of the 15 jazz guys/gals that were frozen at mainline going to the september 15th groundschool? If true should free up some spots.
following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.

Not that I'm in the know, but that seems a little hard to believe...but is it true that some of the original students hired last spring, were hired by WestJet?
500hTT + 1000h 2ic = Westjet?? doubt it..
