Does anyone out there have any info on these guys? Any personal experiences? What about flying in Gabon? I've heard alot of different things about flying in west Africa.
Cheers

Re: Wentworth
I applied, got an e-mail back posting the times required, sounds like they are absolute hours(I have enough but no time on Dash-8). Sounds like they are in a rush to get things going by the end of the month, too bad sounds like it might have been fun for the winter.
Re: Wentworth
I know all about flying in West Africa but know nothing about Wentworth. Can you give me any details on these guys and I can answer any questions about Africa.

Re: Wentworth
I have been contacted by them this week.
I'd love to do the African gig for a while but not too sure what to expect either.
What would be considered a good salary for overseas work in Gabon ?
Any "must know" about flying in West Africa ?
Im having a bit of trouble finding information about Wentworth on the internet ... who their clients are, how many aircraft they are sending ...

Re: Wentworth
They wrote and requested confirmation of hours etc. Said I should hear in a couple days at most. Still don't have any details on the gig so it would appear that only those in the final selection will find out anything. In context, Gabon looks like a pretty decent place. There are a lot worse places to take a contract in Africa!! There isn't too much on Wentworth for sure. Guess we'll see. Whoever gets it, lets us know how it goes. Could be helpful info for any future opportunities that may come up for those looking for working conditions etc.

Re: Wentworth
Same thing here, asked for some further details on my times ... if I was interested in short or long term ... asked what kind of salary I am looking. I had to deflect that question for now and said it would depend on the terms of the contract.
I am defenitely interested in contract work in Africa ... but I have yet to find out what kind of rotations they offer, if any.
I also have to do a bit of homework as to what would be considered fair/good salary for this kind of work... (please advise)
Ill post any updates I get from them asap.

From what I have been told,
The Aircraft is a Canadian Reg Dash 8, So the client is looking for pilots with TC licenses with the DH8 type rating. If your type rating is not current it is your own responsibility to renew it. They are looking for pilots with current PPC's.
The rotations are 6 to 8 weeks on, not sure on the time off. Airline tickets and accommodations are provided.
The pay is $4000 US a month and $100US a day per diem. And again not sure about the pay for time off.
These numbers are for First Officers.
The ability to speak French is a plus.

Well, more then a couple days have gone by. Anybody hear anything yet? They needed contracts signed by Dec 4th so there isn't much leeway....

Re: Wentworth
Well, it would seem that this lead has gone silent. With 2AG advertising directly here on avcanada it looks like things have changed. Makes me wonder, ACASS and Wentworth both advertised for the same positions. Now the company is looking for themselves.......... Good luck to whoever gets a run at this outfit, I think you'll need it. Too bad since I was really looking forward to working there
