Come fly aboard our luxury executive Cessna single engine piston. Our pilot is licensed to fly anywhere in Canada, including Quebec. Come experience the charter aircraft service with Fox Aviation. Find us in the small shack behind the control tower. If we don't answer, check the outhouse.

180 Skywagon? The 185 is the Skywagon, isn't it?

Well, in Ontario both are officially designated as Skywagons. Not sure about other provinces; it could be different, you know  . My license is restricted to "Ontario only".

Hmmmm....perhaps a little respect for someone making a go of it is in order here.

You never know who's door your going to be walking through with a resume in hand.

I have a Cessna 180H and Cessna calls it a Skywagon. I worked with Keith at Bearskin Air in the late 70's. Damned good guy and a damned good pilot. Looks like he started a little airservice to keep himself amused in retirement. He has more experience in the "real" world than most of you will ever have.

This forum has reached a new low when people ridicule someone who has gone to all the trouble of setting up a business in aviation.

Disgusting, just plain disgusting.

I agree with CD.
I'd love to see someone like that do really well running his own service. If I were to offer constructive criticism I might recommend having a marketing guy look at the website for a bit of a polish (Including best glide is pretty funny) in order to get the most out of it, but it's not my place. Also, the general public isn't exactly well versed on the qualifications of pilots. Nothing wrong with putting that stuff in there.

Running a small 703 with one plane sounds like a dream job to me and sounds like Keith is living it!

C'mon, I certainly was not trying to ridicule this fellow or his business. I've just stumbled upon this page, found it funny (in a good way) and shared. I had no idea whether that info was meant to be humorous, but I suspected it was and just played along. Public on this board is way too cranky. Relax, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings.

+1..Give him some credit. At least he has the guts to do all the necessary work of a start-up. You know, the world is full of people who are/will be nothing but followers and start stupid threads like this.

Intothe blue, take another look at your post and tell us again that you aren't trying to ridicule this man and his business. Its obvious that Keith asked someone who thinks they are handy with a computer to make up a page for him. This person is a little short on aviation knowledge so grabbed a few numbers from the POH and didn't understand the area a pilots lic covers. I'm guessing you're another 500 hr unemployed boy waiting for his big break. If not you would know better than disrespect and insult a man who has spent 20K hrs in the air. The use of those damned smilies are also disgusting.

Having been around for more than a quarter century in aviation as an AME and commercial pilot ,, I can honestly attest to the fact that pilots, in general , are a whimpering, complaining, self centred, entitlement junkie, tunnel visioned group of folks who think they are more intelligent than they actually are and think they are in more demand than they actually are Truth hurts!!

@ Into the Blue

I'm with you on this one. I took it as being a lighthearted post, just as lighthearted as the ad appears to be.

I'm not sure what some of these other members are reading. :?

Personally I'd have to agree and I certainly applaud the fellow and would cheer him on in his business, hell, I'm going through the same thing to get something started at the moment though.

That being said, this thread does bring to light a valid discussion point and that is I find generally pilots make bad websites for their businesses. I always find flying business websites cluttered with a lot of useless information and important stuff to me in a customer's shoes very hard to discern. The OP here outlines this - after all, if you wanted to hire the services of a 180 does its glide speed really mean much to you? Websites often I find are designed by pilots for other pilots - which might be fine if you were actually say marketing training. The website in question here is actually pretty well laid out compared to most I've seen with most of the useful information where one would expect it. It could use a few tweaks but in general does its job.

I actually think it's a pretty website and the About Us is quite nice, and gets a bit of humour and friendliness show.

That being said, the website is still an advertising tool, and as such the details must be correct. If we are able to pick on some things, then the owner of the site knows what to correct.

For example:

I'm afraid I don't understand the responses. Do most of you really think that calling a 180 a luxurious aircraft and posting it's gliding speed was not done tongue in cheek?

Again, that's exactly what I suspected when I posted this. I still don't see anything to get angry about. Some of the reactions have taken me by surprise.

I'm a bad person. I laughed at the "check the outhouse" comment in the first response.

Some people have way too much time on their hands .... what the hell do you expect ? If you started a threat commending his business it would also be torn apart.

I think Kieth's comment about being licensed to fly in all of Canada might be because he doesn't have an FAA FAR part 129 manual approved yet or doesn't want to bother with cross border charters.
??

I like his web page and good luck Mr. Fox.
