Anyone flown to PVR Mexico
Has anyone here flown into MMPV in a small aircraft?
I would love to talk to you if you have as I am planning a trip in November.

Yes. It was a wonderful flight. The whole Westjet team made for a great trip.
I suspect that's not what you were asking but I couldn't resist.

I've been to mexico several times with my personnel aircraft, it's a safe place to fly people are very friendly, only word of caution is to stay away from small out of the way airports you may return to find your wheels missing on your aircraft, go to larger well protected airports with airport security. I once flew from Tampico on the coast of Mexico to Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific coast, over the Sierra Madres at 13000 feet and captured the whole flight on video camera. the whole flight was planned using Jepperson low on route maps. Mexico does not allow private flights at night with small aircraft, so plan your flights to arrive before nightfall, Have a nice trip.

When you overnighted in PVR where did you park....there is a very expensive FBO that wants around $100 per night...
I understand there is general aviation parking but have yet to find out more information on that....

Check out this website for some great info on flying in Mexico
http://www.bajabushpilots.com/
Last I checked you can fly at night IFR but VFR is Day only
I've flown in Mexico as a passenger in a Cessna 206 with http://uimaviation.com/ way before my flying days. Some great memories and scenery and the reason I started my flying career.
Like comment above - stick to the big airports and lock everything up and remove GPS, Radios, and anything else expensive and even put a chain around your prop or try to get a hangar but wont be cheap.
If you have time stop in Los Mochis and take the train through the Copper Canyon to Chihuahua city or just fly
. Mazatlan has some nice spots to see as well but airport is far from town.
Any other questions PM me.
Happy Flying

Re: Anyone flown to PVR Mexico
It has been a long time since I last flew into Mexico, when I was member of the Baja Bush Pilot Arnold Senterfitt was still running the show, but . . .
The Baja Bush Pilots are a great source of info and well worth joining. Arnold Senterfitt was the "Elrey Jeppesen" of mapping out Baja Mexican landing strips. Think of them as a COPA, for South of the Border.
Saludos Cordiales.
