Any Chances for a LR-JET Type Rated pilot?
Hello Everyone,
Last year I completed my training at PROIFR in BC,Canada. I believe and I know for sure that Canada has one of the highest aviation training worldwide, I live in Mexico and a I currently hold a Canadian Commercial License with an Instrument Group 1 Rating and MEL ratings and the equivalent FAA License as well as the Mexican private pilot license ( The conversion to get the Commercial Mexican is a hassle and such a long process to anyone looking for the conversion of a foreign license to the Mexican one)
I've recently been to Flight Safety to get my LR-JET type, this one covers Learjet 20s,30s and 50s series, I have been flying for a private company in Mexico flying a US LJ35A registered airplane but I'm looking forward to move back to beautiful Canada.
If anyone can give me a suggestion or know about a company looking for Learjet Plots , that would be very much appreciated.

Just to Clarify.... you got your commercial license last year? I'm assuming you paid for your own LR type rating, if this is the case...

I didnt pay for it
The company Did , people like you doesn't have access to that type of training until you in your 30s or 40s , im only 27

Welcome to the forums. First things first do you have Canadian residency? Or a work permit? That will be required before you can even start looking for jobs. There are lots of pilots in Canada so chances of a company being able to sponsor you are slim. As for the older lears there are a few still kicking around but they are becoming fewer every year.
I believe converting your license should be relatively easy one you get here and if your type rating is from the faa you'll get credit for that we'll, though best to contact transport Canada to confirm.

Gustavo, as far as I know, the LR-JET type on your US license is probably a few different type ratings in Canada-not sure how TC will handle that, but give them a call!

They type ratings are broken down in Canada. I have a LR35 which covers the 35 and 36 only. The 20, 31, and 45 are separate and the 50 and 60 are grouped I believe.

Well, in that case, I'd like to apologize for my original bluntness.
Call TC and find out how your rating will transfer over, then if I was you I'd just look at the Civil Aircraft Registry for those specific types and go from there!

FICU you are correct except for the 55 and 60...they are separate types as well.

Oh yes! Could not imagine an 8 hour leg with being able to walk around
