Tiger Moth or Chipmunk Flying in Toronto Area

Post by ManfredvonRichthofen »

Hi all

I am from the UK and will be visiting Canada in October.

I will be in the Toronto area and am hoping to find somewhere that'll let me fly a Tiger Moth or a Chipmunk - with instructor of course.
I have not found anything on internet searches and wondered if any of you guys might be able to help

Thanks

CWH only does scenic tours...and I don't think they use the Chipmunk. However its worth a peek. CWH is about an hour from downtown Toronto.

Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum may be able to help you in Hamilton 1 hr drive from Toronto. They give rides in a variety of aircraft including the only passenger carrying Lancaster in the world that I know about 8) . http://www.warplane.com/index.html

There are examples of both those types at Brampton Airport which is close to Toronto. The Chipmunk is privately owned and the Tiger Moth is owned by the flying club there. I have no idea if they are available for flights but everyone has their price.

There is a tige moth and a chipmunk at the Oshawa Airport, about a half hour east of toronto. operated by Classic Wings... they do demo flights in the harvard. i'm not 100% sure about the chipmunk and the moth.

Brampton does have a Tiger Moth but it was their first aircraft they operated and now only comes out for special ocasions with little to no flying. Clasic wings in Oshawa is your best bet. They do traing flights in the Moth, Chip, and Harvard. Stan Miller is who you need to talk with. Phone number is 905-259-1280. PM me if you need any other info.

http://www.tigerboys.com

located in Guelph, Ontario. 1hr west of Toronto.

3 or 4 DH-82 a's and c's, a Thruxton Jackaroo and a Fleet 16.

A great place to visit, that will likely be the highlight of your trip

ask for Bob, Tom or Steve

All the best,
:D

The Harvard Association in Tillsonberg can take you for rides in their Tiger Moth, and can even give you a checkout. I don't have their number, but I'm sure Canada411 would.
