Re: Impact of rising fuel prices on Aviation's recovery

:? Well this is all great news! High gas prices and we will use bicycles to get around! Save the planet! Why is anyone complaining about the high prices, this is what the carbon taxes were designed to do anyways. You will own nothing and you will be happy! And we’ll all need to prepare for an angrie...

Re: First Max

Anyone who’s been around the industry, and especially around startups world wide knows the perils of rapid expansion prior to achieving consistent profitability. Jetsgo was the Canadian poster child for this strategy. When cash became tight, as it perpetually was at SG, they simply announced furthe...

Re: Air Canada granted special stock awards and $10-million in bonuses while negotiating government bailout..

It's truly Amazing that this story comes out just as the government votes NO to holding elections, as Government pensions would be in jeopardy for many if an election is called... Its amazing that CBC doesn't deep dive into ALL the raises government workers have gotten during this Blatant show of i...

Re: What will happen to our industry?

Yes, we dont hear the whole story on CBC. How many people who have had and recovered from Covid are ever shown on the news? Apparently every third person has had it, you would think they would want to tell you how well they are doing now on the news. THERE ARE SO MANY POSITIVES, lets hear there stor...

Re: What will happen to our industry?

Ok, lots of Stats are always thrown around... On a normal pre covid year, say 2018, how many people died in the USA or Canada from the flu or any other airborne diseases such as Tuberculosis, SARs in one week? On a normal year how many people in the USA die from "natural" causes in a week? How many ...

Re: AC/TRZ Transaction Approved by TC - $5 per Share

I thought there were other buyers waiting in the wings, excuse pun, to buy Transat... If their books show profit, pre-pandemic, and they have a good following with travellers, it seems to me it’s a good deal for a interested buyer. If these points are not true then its a matter of pros and cons of b...

Re: Swoop alum

I think I am agreeing, ANYONE past present or future that works at SWOOP would have to be considered a scab. Doesn’t matter where you worked before you are going against mainline even if you come from mainline. Sorry but thats the only conclusion they should all be on your blacklist.

Re: Swoop alum

Its a small industry gentlemen, burning bridges and all. Carry on. So very true. There are those that burn bridges and those that jump from ship to ship to ship and do nothing but cause damage. I'm still amazed how it only took 26 or so off the street hires to cause so much damage to this industry....

Hard to argue that, it appears pretty plain who is not abiding by the agreement. I would think ALPA would not be pleased.

Re: Westjet Delta JV

I understand now, just coming up to speed on what was the main problem. Yes, if they had an agreement on fleet size agreed to by both parties, then exceeded it, that is not acceptable! Unfortunately they probably can staff easily with so many guys/girls on the street now. Is Westjet adding planes as ...

Re: Sunwing captain passed out drunk in cockpit

I agree, fatigue under Canadian rules affects 100% of pilots everyday, yet no one in Transport does anything about it. Now political powers get embarrassed by a news story and things happen. I guess public perception is more important than actual safety problems that affect all crew all the time whi...

Re: Sunwing captain passed out drunk in cockpit

So I guess our report times will be 4 hours before wheels up to accommodate CASA feel ups and now breathalyzers... who is going to pay us for this publicity stunt time wasting?? Transport?? Are they going to recognize this as part of a duty day? Along with our 17 hour extended days that the free wor...
