Re: Hiring Rumors...
I see 'The Daily' is reporting AC is doubling Narita flights to twice daily out of YVR in the new year. Can't see us doing this with our current pilot OR aircraft numbers!

Re: CHRT Remedy Ruling?
Very well said BH!!! I don't know how Ray Hall et al can sleep at night. There truly is no words to describe the complete disregard these guys have for the majority of pilots at AC who don't want this to happen. I would also like to pose a question to Ray Hall: Would you consider it a win if the end...

Re: Future of Expansion?
If EK is allowed into YYC then you can kiss goodbye, ovder time, most of the other direct oversees connections it currently has. Check out what happened in Australia with their smaller cities. When EK comes in others can not compete with their complete lack of a price point limit, and are foced to p...

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?
Sorry for the delay rockie...I do have a life outside of this forum. As for your response how does simply saying "I love my job" account for the fact that you have clear disdain for your fellow employees and your employer?????? If you love to fly so much but hate this company, after you retire at 60...

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?
Answer my question... Why are so hell bent on remaining part of a company and pilot group you hold in such low moral comparison to yourself.

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?
Rockie, How you PERVERT the HRA to your own greedy end is a disgrace. The fact that you are willing to abuse legislation that's true purpose is to protect people who are actually having their rights trampled, in a vain attmept to remain part of a company and pilot group you obviously hold such disda...

Rockie if this organization is so bad, PLEASE LEAVE! That would truly make this place better for the vast majority of pilots at AC.

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?
What do you expect ACPA to do Rockie?????? There is the absolute potential for 100% of pilots to stay beyond 60 if this Bullsh#t ever goes through. Therefore there is the potential for the junior pilots to be damaged exactly as ACPA effectively illustrated in the finacial impact study.

Re: Mandatory Retirement to be Eliminated in Parliament
No one is forcing you to stop working at 60. Retirement at 60 is a contractual PERK that has been MUTUALLY agreed upon by employer and employee at Air Canada. By all means carry on flying past 60 but dont do it at AC. I love to fly to. What I dont love is the thought that I'm going to miss 5 more Ch...

Re: Mandatory Retirement to be Eliminated in Parliament
YEAH REALLY!!!! I dont give a sh%t about all this crap you continue to dig up!! (The bare fact that you have time to do this 12 hours a day is a testament to the sad life you must lead.) Go talk to one of these pilots in the States. I just happened to be on a crew shuttle with a nice chap in LGA jus...

Re: Mandatory Retirement to be Eliminated in Parliament
the only reason ALPA was in favour of a revised retirement age was the fact that most american airline pilots had their persion wiped out after 9/11.

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?
Rockie,
What kind of response did you expect to come from other ACPA members? You are doing real damage to peoples lives here. The fact that you just dont give a sh#t about that is the most frustrating part....for me at least.

Re: Rumors of AC hiring soon, any truth?
Rockie, "Mandatory retirement" implies that one group is forcing another to do something. In Air Canada's case this is not so. Air Canada and ACPA have reached a MUTUALLY agreed upon age of retirement. This is a simple case of democracy winning out. (ie. Majority rules) Using your arguement how are ...

Re: Does anyone else find this sleezy?
I agree, a cheezy way to get media attention. Although I do applaud them for joining the relief effort it seems like shamless self promotion in the face a terrible tragedy. AC recently flew relief aid into Haiti with the 67 but you didnt read to much about that. But hey being "Canada's preferred air...

Only in this backward system could a non employee of AC mainline get a standby seat ahead of an AC mainline employee. This has to be addressed in the 09 contract talks!

Re: equipment bid
Rockie, Harbingers of our future hey? I think what you are failing to see is that if the age 65 retirement age ever goes through the company will have to make it work for them. Currently a pilot who retires early is given a penalty every year he/she retires early. Are you so niave to think that the ...

Re: equipment bid
Rockie, Retiring at age 60 with no one older than me has nothing to do with it. The entire idea is that when I am 59 I will be able to enjoy my seniority number without the need to fly to 64 to enjoy that same seniority. The point is the vast majority of us do not want to fly to 65 but we do want to...

Re: equipment bid
Rockie, I must say that I agree with JS on the age 60 issue. Regardless of what the average age of new hires is today THEY ALL KNEW what they were signing up for when they got to AC. If your'e 35 and concerned that your pension may not be everything you want when you retire then you shouldn't have a...

Re: equipment bid
2 questions.. 1. What analysts? 2. Why would a US economic slow down hit AC harder than WJ. AC is already established in the states and has the ability to shed 320's and excercise more EMJ options. This woudl have the effect of reducing capacity will maintaining frequesncy. Meanwhile WJ is trying to...

Re: equipment bid
Piggy, Where are you getting this "general concensus" information. I have never heard anybody (other than some loud mouth pilots) say WJ will ever have larger A/C than the 737. The information that comes from WJ management seems quite to the contrary. Similarily, Air Canada recently held a company r...
