Open up new bases already !
Whats the lastest on new bases ? Seems like a nice place to be, but before they open up at least YOW and YUL, a lot of experienced pilots (myself included) wont join. Smart thing to do is to open them up before air canada scoops the rest of us up when that new agreement comes along, good luck staffi...

Re: “Dashboard”?
Why dont you guys just stop speculatingand go straight to the source and just ask the owner at the next meeting, the answer may or may not be satisfying.
Even if they sell the airline, as long as it s not to air canada, you'll be fine.

Re: CFO's resignation
Take a look at the situation from 30,000 feet. Here's where WS was at the end of 2000, (58 months into the program) with virtually the same size fleet as Porter's E2 operation after, what 5 months? https://www.annualreports.com/HostedDat ... A_2000.pdf Read the President's message. WS was humming a...

CFO's resignation
Any thoughts on why would a long time Porter CFO would resign now while the company is in the middle of a huge expansion and throwing millions of dollars left and right ? After 14 years or so, what didnt he like all of a sudden about the numbers to the point of raising the white flag ?

Do not set the bar low again
You guys were doing good. Keep it up and do not set the bar low for all Canadian pilots. Air canada pilots said no, westjet got a sweet deal, this isnt one. Vote yes and you ll remain AC's bottom feeders, bread crumbs eaters. Who the heck calls an airline Jazz anyways lol ?

Re: Negotiations
Vote on the conditions of today, not an imaginary future that MAY NOT even happen. To all the yes voters out there, if you were guaranteed sunshine and roses in the economy for the next ten years would you still vote yes on this MOS? Think about it like that and see how you would feel about it [/qu...

Re: Recession
I’ve wondered the same, specifically since there is no proper union or CBA what stops the group that talks to the company from taking wage concessions? What stops wage reductions is the Canada Labour Code. You don't need a Union and dues for that protection. I would argue you do, have you ever vote...

Grooming is more than crossing a seatbelt lol.. it s picking passengers' garbage, puke or whatever, it s vaccuming, it s empyting trash bins, toilets, etc It's literally crossing seatbelts my dude. It's really not the end of the world. I couldn't even tell you where to get a vacuum. frankly, cant b...

Re: POE Media
Do E2 pilots groom as well or is it just on the Q ? E2 also. One of their pilots is around these parts saying he has no problem with grooming. WJ pilots also agreed to this for years. Again, it’s not at all stations. We don’t need to groom at half of outstations and also if the tail is terminating....

Re: Negotiations
You absolutely nailed that one on the head. Can’t fly? That’s fine - Off to the training department you go. First, there are many already doing this! Second, our LTD has an own occupation clause. It’s voluntary but let’s say you could force them back to work, what about the ones who want to fill th...

Yes because volunteering for a union is bending over. Glad you learned how to string a coherent sentence together. Good luck profiting off other peoples hard work. Bend over yessir keyboard warrior by day, grammar teacher by night.. and the plot thickens You are an embarrassment, not only to Jazz p...

Re: Our turn to strike ?
Aside from pay, which is pathetic, the Jazz contract is a world class contract. Hopefully the last piece of the puzzle comes together sooner than later. I worked at Jazz. You are right about that. The pay stinks but the rest of the contract is quite mature. A mature contract that the company picks ...

Nope. Besides your difficulty in writing full and coherent sentences, you have little understanding of the fundamental principle of trade unions: that we are stronger when we speak with one voice. If you're off pursuing your own agenda, management notices and will not respect your union leadership ...

First, write full sentences. There was a time, when to understand such things would have required a trip to the library to look up the Canadian labour code, and labour laws; and it wouldn't have been just any library, it would likely would have been your cities main library. And the books wouldn't ...

Re: Our turn to strike ?
This will be the summer of people leaving to other airlines, booking off and anything else necessary to avoid working at jazz. It’s what the airline deserves. Thank you so much management and those that approved 17 years of purgatory. Now that no one is following this so called 'contract', just for...

Man. There’s 3 things off topic on a flightdeck, and avcanada. Politics, religion and sexual orientation. Not saying “woke” up. But shit dude, you’re not helping anything by blaming everyone else. With the contract not being followed anymore, what holds us from striking ? Seems like it worked with WJ.
