And remember folks that it's all about the law and NOT fairness. If one can manipulate the law for personal benefit then that's a great thing in this country.

Re: Repeal of Mandatory Retirement Bill Passes Second Readin
Basically you are saying that, I should give my money to you. Ha that'll be the day! As if! I suspect it would be easier to squeeze water from a stone than pry your money from your tightly clenched hands. You in the general sense BTW. In fact what I'm saying is, don't take MY money. You've already ...

I think this Maclean's article is mostly relevant to this thread. http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/12/01/what-the-boomers-are-leaving/ Excellent! Here it is in all it's glory. Exactly the point I was alluding to on my post that was removed. Macleans.ca Canada's only national weekly current affairs maga...

"Who writes Brick Head's material?" V was hired at an age older than average at the time, by Sixty he had in no way, "consumed his allotment", similarly those who at Sixty have only Twenty years seniority, have not, "consumed their allotment". Basically, as in the USA nothing really changes except ...

Way to go Brick Head! AWESOME STUFF! I nominate you for president :supz: LOVE this bit, "what to do with someone who has already consumed their allotment, yet chooses to remain working? That has nothing to do with age." This conjures up images of someone with cake all over their face after they've s...

Is it just me, or is this fly 'til you die issue bringing out the absolute worst in people? Well it certainly seems to have brought out the greed in the you know what group. Ahem, cough, cough, I mean the "discriminated against" group. The second class citizens of the airline as they called themsel...

Re: Federal Court Judicial Review Hearing Completed
There is no ageism with junior pilots. Junior pilot get paid less because they are junior . It doesn't matter whether you are 25 or 45 years old when you are hired. You still get paid the same. Don't you understand how seniority works? :? Junior pilots get paid what they get paid because they got s...

Re: Federal Court Judicial Review Hearing Completed
Having given all of this some thought I'm starting to think that the best solution would be to dismantle the whole thing. Bring it all down, i.e. liquidate and then build it up from scratch properly. This way we won't have such a top biased system that has been "for the top by the top". We'll get an...

Re: Federal Court Judicial Review Hearing Completed
why then did you not pick up this fight when these provisions came in in 1985 when presumably the now affected people were in their 30's or 40's and ascending through the ranks at Air Canada with minimal resistance and the entire pilot community felt the movements of big red and were able to advanc...

I see that you didn't mention how Vilven and Kelly were offered reinstatement on the Embraer with 777 FO wages. No mention of your response to the offer as well. They would have been making more than the Captain they would have been flying with.

Re: Hiring Rumors...
Please, lets not get into this debate about how the AC pilots are the elite and more skilled, and better than the washout Jazz pilots. Alot of the times, getting hired is all about luck, timing, and circumstance. BTW flying for both companies is a lot more similar than most people think. Anyways, b...

Re: Deleting files on my profile
In the past it has been known for some profiles to get lost in the system. Don't know how or why but my advise would be to call whoever is going to be in charge of hiring and politely ask them if they would check if all is well with your profile at their end. Be nice and courteous and they should be...

Re: Hiring Rumors...
The senior boys at AC need to smarten up and start to play as a TEAM. EC And why would they want to do that? Oh yeah, because if your ladder is weak at the bottom it's not going to hold you at the top for long. Also just like building on a weak foundation, the whole building might come crumbling do...

If you were to stomp your feet, get angry and whine loudly enough, I'm sure there might be a body out there that will grant you your wishes at someone else's expense.
