Re: The airline nobody wants to work for?

Didn't AI purge expat pilots 4-5 years ago with very little notice?!?! If I was interested in a third world flying experience I wouldn't go there for that reason.

Re: Situation for Jazz New Hires

Re "jazz pilots excited to leave" The air Canada CPA extension to 2025 had 4 stipulations. One of which is that at least 625 pilots put there name on the list to leave. Not enough names, no deal with AC. Back to the drawing board and the 2020 deadline scenario plays on. So, we have the 625 plus a fe...

Re: Air Canada Pool

Pool peeps, There a many Jazz pilots on the PML (and not) who wish you the best and hope for your expedited employment with AC. Nobody I've talked to at jazz feel entitle to the course spots, actually, many of us were planning a long and stable career at Jazz until a few weeks ago when it was made c...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?

Wow so much HATE out there.... Just want to bring up a couple of things; I was the first one to say in the crew room I would rather see Jazz sink in 2020 than take a bad contract. Any new hire has the opportunity to make what a current jazz pilot makes after this deal is ratified. There are just 3 y...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?

MONTREAL—Air Canada affiliate Jazz Aviation has a tentative, 11-year labour agreement with its pilots association that will run until Dec. 31, 2025, if ratified by the union’s members. The proposed contract is being presented as a key element in a revised commercial arrangement with Air Canada, whic...

Re: Renegotiating with Air Canada

The flow-through rumor Came from comments made by Jolene Mahoney, Chorus COO if I am remembering correctly. It was more than a few months ago that I read it. If you go on the company site and you search under "Jolenes blog" you can scroll through and find her direct quotes. The long and short of is ...

Re: Canadian Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations (CFAL

Rumor says a line of communication has been opened between the college and the CFALPA. If the dream comes true the COP will deal with licensing and standards and the CFALPA will set pay. This is a similar to other professions. Teachers for example have both representative bodies allowing moves betwe...

Re: College

Hi Eric,

I just want to point out that if the COPP's became a reality ALL Canadian pilots would be forced into joining. If they didn't then it would defeat the whole purpose, no?

Re: Canadian Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations (CFAL

Just want to share some positive news about our respective pilot groups working together. ACPA, all CDN ALPA carriers, Sunwing, and a few more. Here is an excerpt from an email from ALPA. Not sure if I'm breaching anything here, if so pls advise and I will remove. BC May 12, 2014 Ladies and Gentleme...

Re: Message to the ALPA Canada Board

If the college wants a strong membership the should come out with a stronger mandate, sometime pilots feel strongly about, namely pay and working conditions, NOT licensing and standards!

Yes, that's where rouge comes in. Question is, when will rouge be sold off (with a CPA) and after that when will a"SkyRouge" start up to undercut their wacon? History repeats itself dumb-dums.

Re: Shoot me down

Good therory, and one that's been around for some time and warrants thought. Is jazz too expensive now? mYbe. Will jazz be too expensive in dec 2020? who knows? What will encore be paying in 2020? Same question for Georgian/SR? Will another regional pop up to undercut Georgian/sr/jazz? Will Joe/Jo g...

Re: To be a pilot or not...

Correct, it is happening I a lot of industries. I may disagree with your sub 25yo finding a decent job comment though. I work with many pilots who's kids make a shight load of cash with little experience and some that do even better with a trade or degree. I can't think of a better time to be young ...

Re: To be a pilot or not...

Hi, I don't have time to read throw the previous post so please forgive me if I am repeating anything. Short answer is don't do it if the airlines are your goal. There still may be a future in corporate flying but it can be cyclical and The schedules are hard to plan a life around. If you are going ...

Flapsdown, It is a common theme amongst my peers. Guys twice my age who were at our stage in life 25 years ago have said to me if I could do it all over again I would spend the time with my family. They also say that considering that the pay is the same now as it was 25 years ago there's no way that...

Here's a couple;

Do you have a pulse?

Are you willing to be one of the worse paid regional pilot in Canada while others at your company are among the best paid?

Yes to one of the two above questions and you're hired.

JJJ, Could you elaborate on how the WJ pilots had no say on the creation of encore and the wages and conditions they work under? I thought the pilots had the final say on encores creation. And I believe that wjpa at least had some say in their initial waco negotiations? Certainly the wjpa could have...

Other than a group of united pilots in Canada who dictate a minimum wage per AC type I have no idea how to stop companies from offering cheaper airfares on the backs of pilots.

Re: Encore's Pay and Work Conditions

FL767, Pilots get paid as a function of revenue they generate which is why wide body driver earn more than turboprop drivers. I'm not sure if it's right or wrong but for now that's the way it is. The other option would be to make the pay more equal across the industry- let's say, pay all captains $...

Re: Why WJ Pilots lost all my respect

I don't know if idiots is the right word for the group who voted yes. Perhaps scared new hires, big tin dreamers, and " had the profit share blinders on" would be a more flattering description? Anyways, nothing new here, pilots have been selling out pilots since Orville used a 2 sided coin. Good luc...
